Celebrate Christ Jesus
email: – firstname.lastname@example.org
This post for Christmas is a slightly late, but I had to do it for a reason. We all celebrate Christmas through partying, with friends and family. Yet we become so preoccupied with the preparation of meals. Often like Martha, we become too busy to sit at Yeshua’s feet. Then we complain to the Lord about the Mary’s in our life who always seem to sit at Jesus’ feet. We become irritated and frustrated with them, only to hear the Lord say we are concerned about too many things. He says Mary has chosen the better things; we are not to take this from her.
As they went on their way, he entered into a certain village, and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. She had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word. However, Martha was distracted with much serving, and she came up to him, and said, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister left me to serve alone? Ask her therefore to help me.” Jesus answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is needed. Mary has chosen the good part, which will not be taken away from her.” (Luk 10:38-42 WEB) https://email@example.com/esword.net
We need to celebrate Jesus every day not just over the Christmas or festive season. Remember the prophetic scriptures speak about God’s placing a way to escape from the destruction which sin has upon our lives. Through our inherent sin, we are doomed to destruction, except for our acceptance of Messiah (Jesus Christ)! He is our only Mediator between God and man. We are aware that death and life are in the power of our tongue. Our inherent sin brought about death and destruction without any escape.
Therefore, Christ Jesus was born of a virgin according to the Scripture, which was in fulfilment of the prophetic sign given to Isaiah for the redemption of humanity. The Lord revealed His Redemptive plan to Isaiah: –
For to us, a child is born. To us, a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. His name will be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and of peace, there shall be no end, on David’s throne, and on his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from that time on, even forever. The zeal of Yahweh of Armies will perform this. (Isa 9:6-7 WEB) https://firstname.lastname@example.org/esword.net
In the beginning
From Scripture, we see how the Lord created, the heavens and the Earth. He further formed Man from the dust of the earth. He formed us with His Hands. With His Fingers, He shaped our very form. He created us in His Image! Even when in our mother’s womb He knew of us. He formed us! He knows all the days of our life, even the very hairs upon our head. Remember He calls those things, which do not exist as though they are. He honours His Word above His Name. (Gen 1:1-2; Gen 1:28-31; Jn1:1-14; Ps139:13-18; Rom4:17 Mt 10:30 & Lk 12:7)
Our celebrating Jesus should not be limited to special days such as Christmas or Easter (Passover) only. Let us daily celebrate Christ all the days of our life. We need to celebrate Christ Jesus as Creator of all things. Through God’s Spoken Word, we know He formed all the worlds. All things He created holding them together through the Power of His Word. Therefore, we need to celebrate Him as the Creator of all things and as our only Mediator. We read from Scripture in the beginning God created all things. Even though the earth was void and without form, He called and spoke those things into being. He said, “Light be!” Then light came into being!
For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well. My frame wasn’t hidden from you, when I was made in secret, woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my body. In your book they were all written, the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there were none of them. How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is their sum! If I would count them, they are more in number than the sand. When I wake up, I am still with you. (Psa 139:13-18 WEB) https://email@example.com/esword.net
Know the Truth
Jesus, therefore, said to those Jews who had believed him, “If you remain in my word, then you are truly my disciples. You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” (Joh 8:31-32 WEB)
Therefore let us seek the Lord with all our heart. We have come to the Truth of the matter. When we urgently seek to know the Truth, we shall be made free! Neither shall we be confounded nor dismayed! For where the Spirit of the Lord is there is Liberty! Christ Jesus (Yeshua Ha Mashiach) reminds us; He is the Way the Truth and the Life! Whoever has seen Him has seen the Father. He and the Father are One! (Jn 14:8-12 & Jn 10:25-30; 34-38).
Jesus & the Father are One! (Not Santa!)
Note He said He and the Father are One! Not He and Santa. We worship God in Spirit and Truth! There is no Santa Clause in Scripture! Santa Clause is supposedly a legendary (fictitious )character, who supposedly keeps a record of whether we are good or bad. When we were children, often we would hear of this “Father Christmas” who has a toy workshop. He would be busy all year round making toys for all the children. When Christmas comes he receives children’s letters from all over the world.
According to tradition, these children place orders for the gifts and toys they would love to have. They would also ask for special gifts or presents for their parents. According to the record if the children were naughty they would receive nothing or an inferior gift or toy. Should the children be good and well behaved they would receive gifts or toys of high quality. For years we hear this traditional Christmas tale. An alternative to the Truth!
It is Time for the Truth
It is time for the Truth to be revealed and told, to all people everywhere. Therefore let us stop giving false hope to the sinner and to all men everywhere! Jesus Christ is the real reason why we celebrate Christmas. We are to once more tell of the Nativity. Tell of Christ’s Birth in Bethlehem according to the prophets. The modern world needs to return to the simplicity of this Gospel! The Good News of our Saviour’s Birth, Death, Resurrection, Ascension and His soon Return!
Let us return to the God of the Bible! He is the Creator of all things! He made the Heavens and the Earth! He formed us in our Mother’s womb! He shaped us with His Fingers! He teaches us to number all the days of our life! He knows the number of hairs on our head! He came into the world! He came to His own, although they did not receive Him; He gave all who believe in Him the right to become children of God!
In the Beginning was the Word
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was at the beginning with God. All things were made through him. Without him was not anything made that has been made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn’t overcome it. There came a man, sent from God, whose name was John. The same came as a witness, that he might testify about the light, that all might believe through him. He was not the light but was sent that he might testify about the light. The true light that enlightens everyone was coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through him, and the world didn’t recognize him. He came to his own, and those who were his own didn’t receive him. But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God’s children, to those who believe in his name: who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. The Word became flesh and lived among us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the one and only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth. John testified about him. He cried out, saying, “This was he of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me, for he was before me.’” From his fullness, we all received grace upon grace. For the law was given through Moses. Grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ. (Joh 1:1-17 WEB) https://firstname.lastname@example.org/esword.net
Seek the Lord
It is time to seek the Lord! Heaven and earth are soon to pass away. We only have this one life in which we are to make amends. Sin is rife, ready, waiting at the door. As I said we only have this one life. It is given for man once to live thereafter judgement (Heb 9:27). Whatever chance we have of repentance, let us make use of it.
True! Sin has pleasure for a season but eventually leads to death and destruction. For the wages of sin is death but the free gift of God is eternal life, through our acceptance of Jesus Christ as Personal Lord, Master & Saviour of our lives.
We need to make a quality decision, in giving our lives to God through Jesus Christ! He is the only Mediator between God and man! The Sole Proprietor; for our Salvation. There has never been any other way. It is always through Christ Jesus, the Way the Truth the Life that we receive and obtain Life! (Jn 14:5-7; 1Tim 2:5; Heb 8:6; Heb 9:15 & Gal 3:15-29)!
By faith, Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, choosing rather to share ill treatment with God’s people, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a time; accounting the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt; for he looked to the reward.
(Heb 11:24-26 WEB)
Moses knew both the danger and pleasure of sin while remaining in Pharaoh’s Palace! Yet he was ultimately aware of Yisrael’s suffering under Egypt’s heavy hand. He also knew the price he would have to pay, should he choose to relate with Yisrael as their future deliverer and liberator!
All the young life he had known there were a higher destiny and purpose resting upon him! He continually lived a dedicated life. For this reason, he accounted for the reproach of Christ as being a far greater treasure than that of Egypt and Pharaoh’s house! He was determined to fulfil the higher destiny placed upon his life!
now, Why are we travelling this route? A good question indeed! Even as Moses was aware of the higher responsibility which was placed upon his life, even so, there is a Godly responsibility placed upon our lives today! Since the beginning of time, God created the heavens and earth, for His Pleasure. Yet because of His Great Love, He created us in His Image, to enjoy His Wondrous Love and bounteous Creation with Him!
It has never been His will nor desire for us to perish in our sin, but that all men (and women) everywhere would come to repentance. His greatest desire is for us to enjoy being in His Presence. He desires for us to spend all eternity with Him! His Great Love and Mercy is always immeasurable! He is the very Personification of Love, decided to share His creation with us.
Back to the quality decision, we spoke of earlier. Remember all of us have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God. Paul wrote of this constant battle he has with himself. He says the things he does not wish to do he does. Similarly, he says those things he desires to do he does not always do. Who is there to deliver me from this body of death?
He later answers this soliloquy declaring, decreeing and saying: “thanks be to God Whom through Christ Jesus, our Lord! So then with my mind, I myself serve God’s Law! But with the flesh, I serve Sin’s Law!” All of us walking in intimate fellowship with Christ, fight this continual battle; some time or another. For this reason, we daily live a constant repentant life, before God and man!
What shall we say then? Is the law sin? May it never be! However, I wouldn’t have known sin, except through the law. For I wouldn’t have known to covet, unless the law had said, “You shall not covet.” But sin, finding occasion through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of coveting. For apart from the law, sin is dead. I was alive apart from the law once, but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. The commandment, which was for life, this I found to be for death; for sin, finding occasion through the commandment, deceived me, and through it killed me. Therefore the law indeed is holy, and the commandment holy, and righteous, and good. Did then that which is good become death to me? May it never be! But sin, that it might be shown to be a sin, was producing death in me through that which is good; that through the commandment sin might become exceedingly sinful. For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am fleshly, sold under sin. For I don’t know what I am doing. For I don’t practice what I desire to do; but what I hate, that I do. But if what I don’t desire, that I do, I consent to the law that it is good. So now it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwells in me. For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing. For desire is present with me, but I don’t find it doing that which is good. For the good which I desire, I don’t do; but the evil which I don’t desire, that I practice. But if what I don’t desire, that I do, it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwells in me. I find then the law, that, to me, while I desire to do good, evil is present. For I delight in God’s law after the inward man, but I see a different law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity under the law of sin which is in my members. What a wretched man I am! Who will deliver me out of the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ, our Lord! So then with the mind, I myself serve God’s law, but with the flesh, the sin’s law. (Rom 7:7-25 WEB)
Here I believe is the ultimate solution, found in and through our acceptance of Christ Jesus as Lord, Master and Saviour of our lives. Then let us during this festive season, make the quality decision to serve Him, in all we do. Let us truly celebrate Christ, during this season. While we start greeting the new year in its face and saying cheers to the old year, behind us.
Let us once more say, sing: “I have decided to follow Jesus! I have decided to follow Jesus! The Cross before me! The world behind me! I have decided to follow Jesus!” Truly I have decided to follow Jesus! Now, what about you? While reading this word! My question and challenge to you still remain: –
What are you going to do with Jesus Who Is Messiah? What are you going to do with Christ? He is the only Mediator between God and man! He still remains the Way, the Truth, and the Life! He is the only door! He is the Vine! The Father is the Gardener! He alone has the Words of Life! He is Messiah! He is the Christ! He is our Sacrificial Lamb, slain before the foundation of the World!
Therefore let us call upon His Name, receive our Salvation, and deliverance from sin! Whoever calls upon His Name shall not be disappointed! Neither shall we be ashamed! Therefore if and when we call on His Name; Confess Jesus Christ is Lord; believing in our heart that God; raised Him from the Dead! Then we shall be saved!
Father, God, I call upon Your Name! You say when we call upon Your Name in the time of trouble, You hear us! I repent of my sin! Until now I have been trying to make a quality decision to change my life without You! When I confess my sin You are Faithful and Just to Forgive me my sin. I now realize I am unable to save myself from all my sin and iniquity!
Therefore I call upon Your Name! Repent of all my sin, iniquity and realize every one of my good, self-righteous deeds is as filthy rags. (See 2 Chron 7:14; Is 64:6)
Today I confess with my mouth; “Jesus Christ is Lord. Furthermore, I believe in my heart; God raised Him from the dead, therefore I am saved! I believe in my heart unto righteousness! I confess with my mouth Salvation! Father, Your Word says when I believe on You I will not be ashamed. ( See Rom 10:6-17).
Father, You further say, If and when I am in Christ Jesus; I am a New Creation! The old things have become new! (2 Cor 5:17-21)! You also say; “You made Him who knew no sin, to be sin for us that we might become the righteousness of God in Him! (2 Cor 5:21)!
