Feasts of The Lord

Feasts of the Lord

Introduction

Although I am not too clued up about the Feasts of the Lord as some areI sincerely believe; We are regularly encouraged, to celebrate them as if unto the Lord. However today we celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles which started the previous day at sundown. This is also seen as a Holy Sabbath. One of the great celebration feasts. According to Scripture there are at least seven feasts of our Lord which we are called to celebrate. We shall see them briefly listed here below.

As recorded in Scripture all the men had to appear before the Lord three times a year. Daily dedicating ourselves continually before and unto the Lord! Only recently have I read about the Feasts of the Lord. Regularly they are being celebrated.  These instructions were originally given Moses and Israel. All these feasts are being kept and celebrated through them.

Remember Yeshua Ha Massiach(ie Jesus Christ Messiah) in Acts before His Ascension; reminded His disciples that the Times and Seasons are ordained by our Heavenly Father, through His Own Authority (see Acts  1:6-8).  The Lord also gave these feasts, their celebration, meaning and understanding to His servants. For it is recorded the men of Issachar, Moses and the prophets all God’s servants, would understand these times and seasons which are appointed by God. We are reminded when we dilligently and urgently seek His Face concerning these matters; He would reveal them to us in due course. For surely our Lord God does nothing, unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets (Amos 3:7).

Therefore I have declared things to come to you from of old; before they came to pass I announced them to you, so that you could not say, My idol has done them, and my graven image and my molten image have commanded them. You have heard [these things foretold], now you see this fulfillment. And will you not bear witness to it? I show you specified new things from this time forth, even hidden things [kept in reserve] which you have not known. They are created now [called into being by the prophetic word], and not long ago; and before today you have never heard of them, lest you should say, Behold, I knew them! (Is 48:5-7 AMPC Amplified Classic).

Even forever, continually from the beginning through all time and eternity, including during Messiah’s Millennial reign  these feasts are to be celebrated. Each of these feasts are prophetic shadows of Messiah fulfilling the Law and the prophets. They are God’s most Holy Fests. The prophets all spoke of these Feasts which are being fulfilled even until our day. They were originally implemented through our Heavenly Father. Since the Beginning of Creation our Lord, Whom is Creator of all things; placed lights in the heavens for us to be able to know the times and seasons. He also bears record of His Godly Feasts (see Gen 1:14-19).

14 Three times in the year you shall keep a feast to Me.15 You shall keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread; seven days you shall eat unleavened bread as I commanded you, at the time appointed in the month of Abib, for in it you came out of Egypt. None shall appear before Me empty-handed.16 Also you shall keep the Feast of Harvest [Pentecost], [acknowledging] the firstfruits of your toil, of what you sow in the field. And [third] you shall keep the Feast of Ingathering [Booths or Tabernacles] at the end of the year, when you gather in the fruit of your labors from the field.17 Three times in the year all your males shall appear before the Lord God. (see Ex 23:14-17 AMPC).

The Seven Feasts of the Lord-

Leviticus 23:1-4

The Four Spring Feasts –

Fulfilled at Messiah’s First Coming

  1. Passover (Died) – (Matthew 27, Mark 15, Luke 23, John 18-19)

  2. Unleavened Bread (Buried) – (Matthew 27:57-61, Mark 15:42-47, Luke 23:50-56, John 19:38-42)

  3. FirstFruits (Resurrected) – (Matthew 28:1-7, Mark 16:1-8, Luke 24:1-12, John 20:1-10)

  4. Shavuot/Pentecost (Holy Spirit poured out) – (Acts 2)

The Three Fall Feasts –

Unfulfilled

(Will be fulfilled in exact order at Messiah’s Second Coming events on God’s appointed year)

  1. Trumpets – The Feast of Trumpets Idioms (Events); The day of the awakening blast, seven-year tribulation, the opening of the books/gates, the hidden day, the wedding of the Messiah, and the coronation of the Messiah

  2. Yom Kippur (Second Coming)

  3. Tabernacles (Millennial Reign) – Seventh Feast

Just as the four fulfilled spring feasts occurred in the exact order prophesied in Leviticus 23 at Messiah’s first coming, so will the three unfulfilled fall feasts at Messiah’s second coming. The Feast of Trumpets represents repentance, the Feast of Yom Kippur represents redemption, and the Feast of Tabernacles represents rejoicing! Assuredly, repentance has to come before redemption, and only after redemption is there rejoicing.

There is still more about God’s Feasts, which we shall look at later. But you can always contact chad@faithfulperformance.com for a more fuller study concerning the Biblical Feasts. You can also contact Chabad organization or Sid Roth on Its Supernatural for further information and understanding the Biblical Feasts. I shall cover more about the feasts at a later stage, as I am still a rookie when it comes to the Feasts of the Lord.

Faithfully
