Times and Seasons#2
21 He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and sets up kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have to understand!22 He reveals the deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with Him!23 I thank You and praise You, O God of my fathers, Who has given me wisdom and might and has made known to me now what we desired of You, for You have made known to us the solution to the king’s problem. (Dan 2:21-23 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC))
Are we aware of the times and seasons we’re living in? this is a very good question, we need to ask ourselves. Know the Scripture speaks about these matters. The Preacher in Ecclesiastes wrote about there been a time for everything under the sun.
3 To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under the heaven:2 a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;3 a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;4 a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;5 a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing a time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;7 a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;8 a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.9 What profit hath he that worketh in that for which he laboureth?10 I have seen the travail which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time. Also He hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.12 I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice and to do good in his life,13 and also that every man should eat and drink and enjoy the good of all his labor: it is the gift of God.14 I know that whatsoever God doeth, it shall be forever; nothing can be added to it, nor anything was taken from it. And God doeth it, that men should fear before Him.15 That which hath been is now, and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.16 And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there.17 I said in mine heart, “God shall judge the righteous and the wicked, for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.” (Eccles 9:1-17 KJ21) http://www.biblegateway.com
Who knows the times and seasons better than our Heavenly Father. We touched on this in a previous entry. Remember when our Lord ascended into Heaven, in the presence of His disciples,. They asked Him specifically concerning the restoration of the kingdom to Israel. The Lord told them it is not for them to know the times and seasons which are in the Father’s hand.
We are certain of this very thing that our Lord is never taken by surprise. He is aware of all which goes on in the Earth today. He is not bound by time, as we are. He created the sun, moon and stars, to determine the times and seasons (Gen 1:14). Even till our day, we use them to measure the times and seasons of our calendar. These are confirmed in Noah’s time as well.
14 And God said, Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be signs and tokens [of God’s provident care], and [to mark] seasons, days, and years,15 And let them be lights in the expanse of the sky to give light upon the earth. And it was so.16 And God made the two great lights—the greater light (the sun) to rule the day and the lesser light (the moon) to rule the night. He also made the stars.17 And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth,18 To rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good (fitting, pleasant) and He approved it.19 And there was evening and there was morning, the fourth day. (Gen 1:14-18 AMPC).
Our Lord is able to reveal to us the times and seasons to us as He so chooses. He says in Amos: –
6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? Shall there be evil in a city, and the Lord hath not done it?7 Surely the Lord God will do nothing, unless He revealeth His secret unto His servants the prophets.8 The lion hath roared! Who will not fear? The Lord God hath spoken! Who can but prophesy . (Amos 3:6-8 21st Century King James Version (KJ21) In Context | Full Chapter | Other Translations)
That He will not do anything without first allowing His servants the prophets, to be in the know concerning His plans. He demonstrated and revealed this knowledge, to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph and yes even to Noah before the Deluge. He revealed His Redemption Plan even to them! This had been revealed to them hundreds of years before the time.
Paul writes in Hebrews, about how the Lord: revealed His Plan to our fathers through His prophets. He in recent days has spoken to us through His Son.
1 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, 2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; 3 who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself[a] purged our[b] sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, 4 having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. (See Heb 1:1-5 NKJ).
Therefore having seen all in all, we realise when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth His Son born of a woman, born under the Law (Gal 4:4 NKJ).https://Biblegateway.com
9 having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, 10 that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both[a] which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him. 11 In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, (see Eph1:10 NKJ).http://Biblegateway.com
we”ve entered the 3rd millennium since Christ’s 1st coming, His death and Resurrection. The whole of creation still awaits the revealing of the sons of God. Remember whoever calls on the Name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, “Abba! Father!”16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit that we are the children of God;17 and if children, then heirs — heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if so it be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together.18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of Him who hath subjected the same in hope,21 because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. 23 And not only they, but ourselves also, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. (see Rom 8:15-24 KJ21)
It is clear from the scripture, God is in control of the times and seasons for millennia. He is aware of everything which takes place throughout all of Creation. In the Beginning He was there and has always being in existence. In the Beginning God _ _ _! In the Beginning was the Word! The Word was God! The Word became Flesh! He Dwelt among us! Jesus tells us_ “Before Abraham was; I Am!'”
