We shall Live
39 Jesus said, Take away the stone. Martha, the sister of the dead man, exclaimed, But Lord, by this time he [is decaying and] throws off an offensive odor, for he has been dead four days!40 Jesus said to her, Did I not tell you and promise you that if you would believe and rely on Me, you would see the glory of God?41 So they took away the stone. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.42 Yes, I know You always hear and listen to Me, but I have said this on account of and for the benefit of the people standing around, so that they may believe that You did send Me [that You have made Me Your Messenger].43 When He had said this, He shouted with a loud voice, Lazarus, come out!44 And out walked the man who had been dead, his hands and feet wrapped in burial cloths (linen strips), and with a [burial] napkin bound around his face. Jesus said to them, Free him of the burial wrappings and let him go.45 Upon seeing what Jesus had done, many of the Jews who had come with Mary believed in Him. [They trusted in Him and adhered to Him and relied on Him.] (Jn11:39-45 Amp)
15 Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel( I preached to you,(which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve. 6 After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles,8 and last of all he appeared to me also,as to one abnormally born. (1Cor 15:1-8 NIV)
12 But now if Christ (the Messiah) is preached as raised from the dead, how is it that some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not risen;14 And if Christ has not risen, then our preaching is in vain [it amounts to nothing] and your faith is devoid of truth and is fruitless (without effect, empty, imaginary, and unfounded).15 We are even discovered to be misrepresenting God, for we testified of Him that He raised Christ, Whom He did not raise in case it is true that the dead are not raised.16 For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised;17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is mere delusion [futile, fruitless], and you are still in your sins [under the control and penalty of sin];18 And further, those who have died in [spiritual fellowship and union with] Christ have perished (are lost)!19 If we who are [abiding] in Christ have hope only in this life and that is all, then we are of all people most miserable and to be pitied.20 But the fact is that Christ (the Messiah) has been raised from the dead, and He became the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep [in death].21 For since [it was] through a man that death [came into the world, it is] also through a Man that the resurrection of the dead [has come].22 For just as [because of their union of nature] in Adam all people die, so also [by virtue of their [union of nature] shall all in Christ be made alive.23 But each in his own rank and turn: Christ (the Messiah) [is] the firstfruits, then those who are Christ’s [own will be resurrected] at His coming. (1Cor 15:12-23 Amp)
27 So that they should seek God, in the hope that they might feel after Him and find Him, although He is not far from each one of us.28 For in Him we live and move and have our being; as even some of your [own] poets have said, For we are also His offspring.29 Since then we are God’s offspring, we ought not to suppose that Deity (the Godhead) is like gold or silver or stone, [of the nature of] a representation by human art and imagination, or anything constructed or invented. (Acts 17:27-29 Amp)
Lord we ask Your Wisdom and understanding, as we read Your Word. Give us a clear understanding, of Your promises. We choose to live for You. Lord let Your Love, daily be manifest in our lives. Lord You only have the words of life. We therefore choose life. We choose Blessing. These we ask in Your Most Precious Name! Lord, Jesus, be Glorified in our lives today! Amen! & Amen!
Recently; while wondering & asking the Lord, about that which He, would have me post on Fertiileground? I paged thru my journaling notes;(yes; I do at times keep a journal, keeping record that the Lord lays on my heart). As I glanced through my journal, I came across this entry which I had written on my 55th birthday . (Yes I also have a birthday, which I celebrated, with my family).(27/10/14)
I felt impressed on my heart to enter this theme, concerning living. Although life often gives us a curved ball, it is what we do with it, which eventually matters. Are we going to give up on life? Or are we to take the challenge head on? Are we going to run for home base, or are we going to be bowled over; knocked down for a ten? When we are knocked down; will we remain on the ground; or shall we arise & shine, for our Light has come?
We’re encouraged from Isaiah 60:1- 3 ESV
60:1-3 Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. 2 For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the Lord will arise upon you,and his glory will be seen upon you. 3 And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.
Similarly we’re reminded that Christ Jesus, is our Resurrection and life. He’s also our Life Giver, our Life Source! Christ tells us: – “I Am the Way, the Truth, the Life; no one can come to the Father except through Me.”(See Jn 14:6).
Reading John ch 1 we come across the following Scripture: – John testifying; “In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men. And Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it or absorbed it or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it!” (Jn 1:4-5 Amp).
When believing, receiving and welcoming the Lord, into our lives! He gives us authority to become sons, daughters, children of God! Therefore we’re born of God, through our acceptance of Christ Jesus! He is God’s Living Word! The Word of God (Christ Jesus); became God in flesh! He dwelt, lived a while amongst us. Although, He came unto those whom had been His Own; they had not received Him.
Despite these things, He readily became our Living Sacrifice. His Love, His Life, gives us reason to live. He always remains Faithful, Gracious, Loving, Merciful and Forgiving! His Love far surpasses our human understanding. We’re able to say with Samuel: –
11 And the men of Israel went out of Mizpah and pursued the Philistines and smote them as far as below Beth-car.12 Then Samuel took a stone and set it between Mizpah and Shen, and he called the name of it Ebenezer [stone of help], saying, Heretofore the Lord has helped us.13 So the Philistines were subdued and came no more into Israelite territory. And the hand of the Lord was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.(1 Sam 11-13 Amp)
What shall I say? Much has happened o’er the years till now. Yet our Lord’s always remains Faithful. He alone remains God! Besides Him there is no other! There is no alternative neither is there a middle road! There is only one Mediator between God and man. He is Christ Jesus, He is the Only Mediator. He is the Good Shepherd! He is the Door, through which we’re able to go, to have and live; Life in abundance! As recorded in Scripture, He is God in Flesh! He is the Way, the Truth, the Life!
Jesus is the Christ! He is the Anointed One! He is God in Flesh! He was born! He died in our place, He became our Sacrificial Lamb, Whom had been slain, before the Foundation of the Earth! He rose from the grave! Death could not hold Him! ’tis written our Lord, shall not allow His, Holy One, to see corruption.
9 Therefore my heart is glad and my glory [my inner self] rejoices; my body too shall rest and confidently dwell in safety,10 For You will not abandon me to Sheol (the place of the dead), neither will You suffer Your holy one [Holy One] to see corruption.11 You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore. (See Ps16:9-11 Amp).
5 The waters compassed me about, even to [the extinction of] life; the abyss surrounded me, the seaweed was wrapped about my head.6 I went down to the bottoms and the very roots of the mountains; the earth with its bars closed behind me forever. Yet You have brought up my life from the pit and corruption, O Lord my God.7 When my soul fainted upon me [crushing me], I earnestly and seriously remembered the Lord; and my prayer came to You, into Your holy temple. (see Jonah 2:5-7 Amp).
3 Who forgives [every one of] all your iniquities, Who heals [each one of] all your diseases,4 Who redeems your life from the pit and corruption, Who beautifies, dignifies, and crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercy;5 Who satisfies your mouth [your necessity and desire at your personal age and situation] with good so that your youth, renewed, is like the eagle’s [strong, overcoming, soaring]!( Ps 103:3-5 Amp)
39 But He replied to them, An evil and adulterous generation (a generation morally unfaithful to God) seeks and demands a sign; but no sign shall be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.40 For even as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the sea monster, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.41 The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold, Someone more and greater than Jonah is here! (Mt 12:39-41 Amp).
We’re to be watchful, ready, waiting, for our Lord’s to return a 2nd time to this world. This time He’s not coming as our sacrifice, rather He returns to rule and reign Supreme. He’s coming this time as King, Lord o’er all! We therefore are to rule & reign with Him, in this life also in the life to come. Already it’s recorded, in Scripture; As He is_ _ _ so are we_ _ _ in this world!
Remember also, when we believe on Him, we shall live and ne’er die. For sure, some day or other; we’ll need to put off this flesh, this corruption for the incorruptible. We will die, pass on, put off this Earth Suit, to put on the New! For truth is we have only this one life to live, thereafter judgement.
When we have being renewed, in our spirit man, through our acceptance of Jesus Christ; our Righteousness, we shall live in deed. For the law of Life in Christ Jesus; has set us free from the law, of sin and death. Also be aware, where the Spirit of the Lord is; There is Liberty. Whom the Lord has set free; is Free In Deed!
The RESURRECTION & Life
When our Lord, raised Lazarus from Death, He told Martha, Mary and His disciples, “our friend Lazarus, has fallen asleep; let’s go and awake him.” He said further to Martha; “I Am the Resurrection and the Life! Who ever believes in Me, though he may die. Who ever lives and believes in Me, shall never die. Do you believe this?” (See Jn 11:11-45).
Do we really believe this? My former, deceased, brother & joint heir in Christ Jesus; (prophet Kobus v Rensburg Snr); knew; clearly understood and taught us these things. According to his testimony, he often faced death. His family tells us he had been raised from death. He lived, having a successful ministry throughout his miraculous life, until he completed and finished his course.
During his course, he often fought cancer and overcame death. During his celebrated, life and ministry, he often prayed for the sick and those whom had been oppressed by the devil. Many had been healed, set free & delivered, in, through the Most Powerful Name of Jesus! E’en till date, there are many testimonies, of healing, deliverance, supernatural provision, intervention and Salvation, which are taking place.
Paul also understood these matters. This is why he addressed these matters in & thru his letters. Our Lord face death, becoming sin on our behalf, so we would be able to live. Our last enemy we shall face is death. Yet Paul writes: –
49 And just as we have borne the image [of the man] of dust, so shall we and so let us also bear the image [of the Man] of heaven.50 But I tell you this, brethren, flesh and blood cannot [become partakers of eternal salvation and] inherit or share in the kingdom of God; nor does the perishable (that which is decaying) inherit or share in the imperishable (the immortal).51 Take notice! I tell you a mystery (a secret truth, an event decreed by the hidden purpose or counsel of God). We shall not all fall asleep [in death], but we shall all be changed (transformed)52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the [sound of the] last trumpet call. For a trumpet will sound, and the dead [in Christ] will be raised imperishable (free and immune from decay), and we shall be changed (transformed).53 For this perishable [part of us] must put on the imperishable [nature], and this mortal [part of us, this nature that is capable of dying] must put on immortality (freedom from death).54 And when this perishable puts on the imperishable and this that was capable of dying puts on freedom from death, then shall be fulfilled the Scripture that says, Death is swallowed up (utterly vanquished forever) in and unto victory.55 O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?56 Now sin is the sting of death, and sin exercises its power [upon the soul] through [the abuse of] the Law.57 But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory [making us conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ.58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be firm (steadfast), immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord [always being superior, excelling, doing more than enough in the service of the Lord], knowing and being continually aware that your labor in the Lord is not futile [it is never wasted or to no purpose].(1Cor 15:49-58 Amp).
