Covenant; Good Will; & Reconciliation
10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, it is much more [certain], now that we are reconciled, that we shall be saved (daily delivered from sin’s dominion) through His [Resurrection] life.11 Not only so, but we also rejoice and exultingly glory in God [in His love and perfection] through our Lord Jesus Christ, through Whom we have now received and enjoy [our] reconciliation.12 Therefore, as sin came into the world through one man, and death as the result of sin, so death spread to all men, no one being able to stop it or to escape its power] because all men sinned. (Rom 5:10-12 Amp).
10 But the angel said to them, Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which will come to all the people.11 For to you is born this day in the town of David a Saviour, Who is Christ (the Messiah) the Lord!12 And this will be a sign for you [by which you will recognize Him]: you will find [after searching] a Baby wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.13 Then suddenly there appeared with the angel an army of the troops of heaven (a heavenly knighthood), praising God and saying,14 Glory to God in the highest [heaven], and on earth peace among men with whom He is well pleased [men of goodwill, of His favour]. (Lk 2:10-14 Amp).
18 Keep praying for us, for we are convinced that we have a good (clear) conscience, that we want to walk uprightly and live a noble life, acting honourably and in complete honesty in all things.19 And I beg of you [to pray for us] the more earnestly, in order that I may be restored to you the sooner.20 Now may the God of peace [Who is the Author and the Giver of peace], Who brought again from among the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, by the blood [that sealed, ratified] the everlasting agreement (covenant, testament),21 Strengthen (complete, perfect) and make you what you ought to be and equip you with everything good that you may carry out His will; [while He Himself] works in you and accomplishes that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ (the Messiah); to Whom be the glory forever and ever (to the ages of the ages). Amen (so be it)(Heb 13:18-21 Amp).
Lord we pray, You open open our ears, eyes & hearts to hear see and do that which You show us through Your Spirit. Give us an understanding heart, and clear insight into Your daily Word. Your Word, o Lord; endures forever. Daily direct our steps, o Lord, for us to walk in Your Way.
Keep us pure and holy before God and man. Lord, when we, urgently seek You; with all our heart we shall find You. Great is Your Faithfulness, o Lord, morning by morning, Your Tender Mercies we receive.
21 But this I recall and therefore have I hope and expectation:22 It is because of the Lord’s mercy and loving-kindness that we are not consumed, because His [tender] compassion’s fail not.23 They are new every morning; great and abundant is Your stability and faithfulness.24 The Lord is my portion or share, says my living being (my inner self); therefore will I hope in Him and wait expectantly for Him.25 The Lord is good to those who wait hopefully and expectantly for Him, to those who seek Him [inquire of and for Him and require Him by right of necessity and on the authority of God’s word].26 It is good that one should hope in and wait quietly for the salvation (the safety and ease) of the Lord. (See Lam 3:21-28 Amp).
State of Heart
I had earlier written about the Lord transforming our hearts in a previous post (It is Time to Seek the Lord 2012). I had also touched on the importance thereof. In fact it is of such vital importance, that I felt impressed on my heart; to go there again. Actually, we need to see God’s plan; for the sinner. Man messed up, when we sold out to Serpentine Le Deceite’s suggestion.
15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her Offspring; He will bruise and tread your head underfoot, and you will lie in wait and bruise His heel. (Gen 3:15 Amp).
21 For Adam also and for his wife the Lord God made long coats (tunics) of skins and clothed them. (Gen 3:21 Amp).
9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?10 “I the Lord search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.” (Jer 17:710 ESV )
25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleanness; and from all your idols will I cleanse you.26 A new heart will I give you and a new spirit will I put within you, and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.27 And I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you shall heed My ordinances and do them.( See Ezek 36:24-30 Amp).
God’s original plan is for us to be able to rule and reign, on the earth with Him. We were caretaker’s of this world, over all of creation. We are reminded in Psalms that we are slightly lower than God (see Ps 8). Remember; since the beginning of time we had been created & formed; in God’s Image (See Gen 1:26-28; Gen 2:7, 15-25).
When we sold out; our birthright, to Le Deceite, we lost our authority. This authority had been originally entrusted to us by God. The Lord gave man specific instructions. Yet we hadn’t hearkened, heeded to our Creator. Although we messed up; our Lord; is still prepared to make a way, for us to Live. He remains the Way, the Truth, the Life!
Although we were driven from His Presence; the Lord ne’er cast us away. He had given us His 1st Prophetic Promise, found in Genesis 3:15 and clothed us with tunics made from skin. He showed them how they broke His covenant. This had taken place, in the time of their innocence. When they messed up, sin’s curse had been released. Man started dying spiritually and physically.
Thus through the disobedience of one person, Death entered into the world. Now the Lord, already had a plan of reconciliation, in place, to be able to reconcile man to God. He promised the Seed of the woman, would bruise Serpentine’s head, while Serpentine’s seed shall bruise His heel (see Gen 3:15). Now then through the obedience of One Man, many would be made righteous! (See Rom 5:17-21).
12 Therefore, as sin came into the world through one man, and death as the result of sin, so death spread to all men, [no one being able to stop it or to escape its power] because all men sinned.13 [To be sure] sin was in the world before ever the Law was given, but sin is not charged to men’s account where there is no law [to transgress].14 Yet death held sway from Adam to Moses [the Lawgiver], even over those who did not themselves transgress [a positive command] as Adam did. Adam was a type (prefigure) of the One Who was to come [in reverse, the former destructive, the Latter saving].15 But God’s free gift is not at all to be compared to the trespass [His grace is out of all proportion to the fall of man]. For if many died through one man’s falling away (his lapse, his offence), much more profusely did God’s grace and the free gift [that comes] through the undeserved favour of the one Man Jesus Christ abound and overflow to and for [the benefit of] many.16 Nor is the free gift at all to be compared to the effect of that one [man’s] sin. For the sentence [following the trespass] of one [man] brought condemnation, whereas the free gift [following] many transgressions brings justification (an act of righteousness).17 For if because of one man’s trespass (lapse, offence) death reigned through that one, much more surely will those who receive [God’s] overflowing grace (unmerited favour) and the free gift of righteousness [putting them into right standing with Himself] reign as kings in life through the one Man Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).18 Well then, as one man’s trespass [one man’s false step and falling away led] to condemnation for all men, so one Man’s act of righteousness [leads] to acquittal and right standing with God and life for all men.19 For just as by one man’s disobedience (failing to hear, heedlessness, and carelessness) the many were constituted sinners, so by one Man’s obedience the many will be constituted righteous (made acceptable to God, brought into right standing with Him).20 But then Law came in, [only] to expand and increase the trespass [making it more apparent and exciting opposition]. But where sin increased and abounded, grace (God’s unmerited favour) has surpassed it and increased the more and super abounded,21 So that, [just] as sin has reigned in death, [so] grace (His unearned and undeserved favour) might reign also through righteousness (right standing with God) which issues in eternal life through Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) our Lord. (Rom 5:12-21 Amp).
Therefore we need to dilligently remember God’s Promises to all of us whom believe! On Him, we place our trust for Salvation, Healing, Deliverance and Reconciliation. The Lord reached out toward us. Remember; He 1st Loved us! Because of the Greatness of His Love, He made a way for us, where there was no way.
Due to our misdemeanour’s, Short comings, sins, iniquities etc. We had no means of being reconciled, except through Christ Jesus. He is the only Mediator, between us and God! He is the only way of restoring us back, to our original state, before we fell.
16 The plans of the mind and orderly thinking belong to man, but from the Lord comes the [wise] answer of the tongue.2 All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the spirits (the thoughts and intents of the heart).3 Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.4 The Lord has made everything [to accommodate itself and contribute] to its own end and His own purpose—even the wicked [are fitted for their role] for the day of calamity and evil.5 Everyone proud and arrogant in heart is disgusting, hateful, and exceedingly offensive to the Lord; be assured [I pledge it] they will not go unpunished.6 By mercy and love, truth and fidelity [to God and man—not by sacrificial offerings], iniquity is purged out of the heart, and by the reverent, worshipful fear of the Lord men depart from and avoid evil.7 When a man’s ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.8 Better is a little with righteousness (uprightness in every area and relation and right standing with God) than great revenues with injustice.9 A man’s mind plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps and makes them sure. (Pr 16:1-10 Amp).
You see nobody, knows our heart better than the Lord our God. We may hide our true feelings and emotions from others, but not from God. No one knows man’s heart better than the Lord. This is the major reason we need a heart transplant. Our Lord is able to give us a heart of flesh, for our cold stony heart.
Earlier my family and I went to the movies. The movies? Arrgh!!! The movies? Yes the movies, the Lord hasn’t said we are not to go to the movies. In fact we are not, always bound to legalism. The Lord said we can enjoy life. By all means, we are allowed to enjoy life. Live life to the fullest, in Christ Jesus. When our lives are fully, totally committed to The Lord, we desire doing, that which is pleasing in His sight.
We went to see the movie “Interstellar;” recently, during the course of this month. Briefly here is the plot, theme, storyline of the movie “Interstellar. Mankind, was on the verge of destruction. Then the scientists, intellectuals, were working on a project to save their kind. The main character a flight engineer, Astronaut & pilot, is asked to go into interstellar space to find a suitable habitation, for man’s preservation.
He needed to go to a galaxy/solar system some distance from Earth, close to Saturn, which according to their research, had three potential planets, homogeneous for our specie’s preservation. Yet there were some snags.
These snags had been stumbling blocks, to their eventual, initial plans, for their preservation. One of these planets called Dr Mann. Named after a former astronaut and researcher, of an earlier team whom had been head of the research, lab on this planet, had become isolated. When asked about his planet, he said this planet; although able to support life, had been cold, freezing.
He at some stage fought our hero, trying to keep him from finishing, completing his research. This reminded me of the coldness of man’s heart, who is without God. The other planet close to a black hole had been full of water, yet the gravitation had been to strong for man’s habitation and survival.
There are times that our sin falls so heavily upon our lives, that we are unable to bear them any more. This heaviness of sin can sometime be so hard upon us, thereby destroying our lives for eternity. This should serve as God’s warning to both; Adam and Eve, and all of mankind, if we continue living in sin. Sin has its pleasure for a season, only later to destroy us, leading us on our way to destruction.
Remember Serpentine Le Deceite, can easily lead us astray. He may appear as an angel of light, and so shall many of his servants also appear as angels of light. Paul warns us of these things, as also the other apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. Think me not foolish, if I also find myself speaking on these matters.
The Lord knows, my heart is after Him; Whom is the Lord our God. My God knows my heart is after Him, and for the furtherance of His Gospel, His Kingdom. Jesus is our Chief High Priest, our Sure Foundation; the Chief Cornerstone! Let us arise and build! Does He; (Whom is the Lord, Jesus Christ), know you? You need not hide from the Lord.
Adam; Where are you?
The Lord is asking, calling out to you; e’en as He asked, called out to Adam & Eve, at Eden: – “Adam where are you? What have you been doing? Where are you going to?” These questions, definitely need you to give an honest answer. We may try to hide our face or heart from God. Yet our Lord, as the Good Shepherd, (which He is); goes out of His way to, reach out toward us.
His Love toward us surpasses e’en our wildest, dreams and expectations. Remember He; 1st loved us! He is able to replace man’s stony hearts, with hearts of flesh. He is the Light of the World! Remember; a city on a hill cannot be hid, neither does one hide a lamp under a bushel, rather one puts it upon a stand for all to see! Lord, let Your Light so shine; for all to see! Shine Your Light, oh Lord; shine it upon me.
There is no man which needs to enter into condemnation, death or destruction. ’tis God’s will that none should perish, for all to come to repentance (see 2 Pet 3:8-10 NKJ). God has no pleasure in the death of one who dies, neither takes He pleasure in the death of the wicked (see Ezek 33:11, Ezek 18:19-23 &18:27-32 NKJ).
12 But what I do, I will also continue to do, that I may cut off the opportunity from those who desire an opportunity to be regarded just as we are in the things of which they boast. 13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works. (see 2Cor 11:9-15 NKJ).
The Lord this day sets before us blessing or cursing; death or life; therefore choose life! (See Deut 30:11-31 NKJ). Thus we are to be sure that we have our hearts, spirits, souls renewed in Jesus Christ.
He alone has the Words of Life. He is Messiah! He is God in flesh! Whoever has seen Him; Jesus; has seen the Father. Before Abraham was He was. In the Beginning was the Word. The Word was with God! The Word was God! Jesus Christ is the Living Word! He is the Lamb that was slain before the Foundation of the World! Christ Jesus told the Religious Leaders of His day: – “Before Abraham was I Am!” He challenges us, with this same Word today! What are you going to do with, Christ Jesus; the Messiah?
To be contd
