Possess the Land#1(Possess the Land contd)

1 Intro

Scripture

Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying “Pass through the camp and command the people, saying; ‘Prepare provisions for within three days you will cross this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which the Lord your God is giving you to possess.'” (Josh 10-11 NKJ)

1.1 The Lord Knows

What do wIMG_20130825_0091229e mean, by possessing the land? For us to answer this question, we need to trace the scriptures for some background information. Ever seen an artist at work? The Lord is the Greatest Artist, Business Person, Creator and Director of all time. An artist, first prepares his/her canvas, gradually adding, sketching the background of his masterpiece. Eventually he/she completes their final project. Each piece an original!

He Renews our strength
Lord writes on our heart’s canvas

An artist usually has a fairly good idea of what his masterpiece, is about. He knows his theme, who and what he is modelling his painting after. Whether a portrait, landscape or wildlife. He may often have made study sketches, of his final masterpiece. This would include their planning, material,  colour scheme, counting the cost before he starts with his fine art’s projects. This is part of his creativity, which is unique to him. Even when you are an author, playwright and a journalist, you would research your topic. Yes you would make sure you have done your necessary homework. You would make sure about the topic, personality and news event, before writing or reporting about it. You would probably look at the pros and cons of your report, that you have researched the correctness, truth of your resources. These sources of information you would be clear about, before putting pen to paper. Once you have finished, collecting, filing, researching the important facts and information concerning your topic; your next step is to draw up an outline. Once you finish your outline, you start working on your manuscript. Once your manuscript is ready you send to your publisher, to be printed and published. After all preparations have been completed, you find, seek the right marketing and distribution channels.

Be Joyful Always
The Lord opens our eyes

This is similar to the process we are to go through, while studying His Word. His Word is our manual for life. The Lord opens our eyes to recognize His plans for us, who are called by His Name. Even when ever we go through these steps, one step at a time. The Lord, daily leads and directs our steps. He prepares our hearts, for His manifest Presence. He desires for us to follow His instructions, to have a personal relationship with man. We are His crown creation. He first loved us. His Love for the sinner,  all of mankind, led Him to Calvary. The Lord tells us; He knows the plans, the thoughts, He has for us, for our lives. Plans of a future and of success. He always remains faithful. He is the Faithful and True Witness. He definitely has a plan for our lives. His plans are there; to give us hope.

Be Joyful Always
Jesus makes the blind to see

We know from Scripture: – “Faith is the substance of things, the evidence of things not seen.” (See Heb 11:1). Through and by faith, we understand the worlds [during the successive ages] were framed (fashioned, put in order, and equipped for their intended purpose) by the Word of God, so that what we see was not made out of things which are visible.(Heb 11:3 Amplified). We are also aware of this truth; which clearly indicates, stating as Biblical fact: “The  just shall live, by and through our faith.”(See Hab 2:4b; Rom 1:17-18; Gal 3:11). The Lord shall neither forget,  nor forsake us. We are created in His image (see Gen 1:26-31).  Know our Lord does not make something, which is imperfect. Every Time our Lord, has spoken, calling the things that are not as though they were; He looked and saw, it is beautiful. Yes we are beautiful to Him. The Lord does not make misfits. His work, and creation is faultless. When reading the psalms, we find the psalmist writing, saying, telling us; we are beautifully, wonderfully made (Ps 139:13-19)12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.

14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!

18 If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.(Ps139:12-18 KJV.).
