Fathers; Sons (Children)

Scripture

5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes. [Matt. 11:14; 17:10-13.]6 And he shall turn and reconcile the hearts of the [estranged] fathers to the [ungodly] children, and the hearts of the [rebellious] children to [the piety of] their fathers [a reconciliation produced by repentance of the ungodly], lest I come and smite the land with a curse and a ban of utter destruction. [Luke 1:17.] (Mal 4:5-6 Amp)

1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord [as His representatives], for this is just and right.
2 Honor (esteem and value as precious) your father and your mother–this is the first commandment with a promise–[Exod. 20:12.]
3 That all may be well with you and that you may live long on the earth.
4 Fathers, do not irritate and provoke your children to anger [do not exasperate them to resentment], but rear them [tenderly] in the training and discipline and the counsel and admonition of the Lord.15 After all, though you should have ten thousand teachers (guides to direct you) in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers. For I became your father in Christ Jesus through the glad tidings (the Gospel). (Eph 6:1-4 Amp).
15 After all, though you should have ten thousand teachers (guides to direct you) in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers. For I became your father in Christ Jesus through the glad tidings (the Gospel).(1Cor 4:15 Amp).
8 And Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and smote the waters, and they were divided to the one side and to the other {hither and thither}, so that they two went over on dry ground. 9 And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I am {be} taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me. 10 And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing. Nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so. 11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and separated {parted} them {both asunder}; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. 12 And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and its horsemen {thereof}. And he saw him no more; and he took hold of his own clothes, and tore {rent} them in two pieces.(2Kgs 2:8-12 KJV).

Prayer

Lord we ask You, Your Wisdom, for understanding, as Your children to see Your Father Heart. Help us Lord. Glory to Your Name. Lord You are our Heavenly Father. Nobody knows a fathers heart, better than You. O Lord draw your children back to You. Draw the hearts of the father’s toward their children. Knit the heart’s of the children with their fathers. Draw our hearts toward You, Your Heart toward us. Father draw us closer to You and closer to each other. You tell us when we seek Your Wisdom, You shall give it us.

Prepare your Hearts

’tis time for the real fathers, to come to the fore. There is a definite need, for restoration in this area. The Lord is saying, to His Bride, be ready. I am busy preparing My Bride, to stand up, to rule and reign with Me.Church are we ready? The Lord through Malachi, said; He is going to send the spirit of Elijah, to prepare the hearts of the fathers and their children. He is going to reconcile the sons to their fathers, and the fathers to their sons.

There is presently a crying out for fathers to come into their own. So many children, who are hurting. These are not just natural children only. They are also spiritual sons & daughters, who have been shunned away, by leaders. Many of them are fatherless. We know our Lord is a Father for the fatherless, a husband to the widow. The Lord introduced us to Father through Himself. Our Lord; tells us He and the Father are one, whoever has seen Me has seen the Father ( see Jn 10:30; Jn 14:6-14 Amp).

Children honour your parents
_ _ _honour your father & mother;w hich is the 1st commandment with promise that it may be well with you and you may live long on earth_ _(Eph 6:1-3 NKJ).

Long enough has this been a fatherless generation. Fathers it is time for us to be fathers, not just disciplinarians. Do not misunderstand me, there is time for discipline, which is correct. Yet there is also time for forgiving, time to love the children whom our Lord has given us. True it take guts to become fathers. Our real Father in Heaven is ready and willing to forgive our sin, our shortcoming, thru Christ Jesus. He is the Firstborn, of many.

Jesus is the beloved of the Father. He said I and the Father are one, whoever has seen Me has seen the Father. Let’s briefly look at these matters. Remember when Jesus had been baptised, the heavens were opened, the Spirit of God, descended as a dove alighted upon Him. Suddenly a voice of God, came from heaven, “this is My Beloved Son, in Whom I Am well pleased.” (Mt 3:13-17).

On the Mount of Transfiguration, we see a similar situation, when the Glory of the Lord; had fallen upon Him. Three of our Lord’s disciples, had been eyewitnesses of His transfiguration. The Glory of God, overshadowed them, the Father, revealed Christ Jesus to them, His Beloved Son.

Often Christ revealed Himself to His disciples, and the religious leaders of His day, yet they were blind, deaf and unbelieving. They could not,  would not, see or understand. The enemy blinded their eyes, made them dull of hearing. None are so blind that they shall not see, nor so deaf that they shall not hear; (See Is 6:8-10).

8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send? And who will go for Us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
9 And He said, Go and tell this people, Hear and hear continually, but understand not; and see and see continually, but do not apprehend with your mind.
10 Make the heart of this people fat; and make their ears heavy and shut their eyes, lest they see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their hearts and turn again and be healed. (Is 6:8-10 Amp)

Father makes a Way

Our heavenly Father made a way to reconcile man to Himself, through Christ Jesus. John the Baptist came in the spirit of Elijah to turn back the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers. He was also the forerunner, the messenger sent by God to prepare the hearts of the people. He cried out prepare the way of the Lord.

The Lord revealed this to Isaiah: – “A voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the Lord; Make straight in the desert a highway for our God (Is 40:3 NKJ).

13 But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John. 14 And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth. 15 For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb. 16 And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God. 17 He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, ‘to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,’ and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”
