Watch, stand fast in the Faith, be brave, be strong. Let all that you do be done with Love. (1Cor 16:13-14 NKJ).
The Whole Armor of God
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth,having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— 19 and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. (Eph 6:10-20 NKJ).
45 Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you _ _ _ (1 Sam 17:45-46 NKJ).
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled. (2 Cor 10:3 – 6 NKJ).
Father we come before U in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We ask U for Your Godly Wisdom, Understanding, Insight, icw these Scriptures. Daily make us sensitive to Your Spirit, we pray this o Lord. You say should we lack Wisdom, we are free to ask You for Your Godly Wisdom, which U freely give to them who ask. Lord, open also; the eyes of our understanding, when we go thru Your Word, In Jesus Name we ask. Amen!
Choose _ _ _
14“Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord!15 And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell.But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
16 So the people answered and said: “Far be it from us that we should forsake the Lord to serve other gods; 17 for the Lord our God is He who brought us and our fathers u
p out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, who did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way that we went and among all the people through whom we passed.18 And the Lord drove out from before us all the people, including the Amorites who dwelt in the land. We also will serve the Lord, for He is our God.” (Josh 24:14-18).
While we know, and are aware, that it’s truly a privilege, to serve the Lord; with our whole heart, soul and spirit. We are also not unaware of satan’s devices. The Lord sets before us death and life; blessing and cursing; He often encourages us to choose life, blessings, above death and cursing. These choices; He often placed at the feet of Israel and Judah, their patriarchs, prophets, kings, priests. He even placed these challenges before their citizens; even before them as a nation.
Even today, now at this present time, our Lord still challenges us, to choose Blessing and Life, above death and cursing. Jesus could not be held captive by the grave. For it is written; the Lord shall not allow His, Holy One; to undergo or suffer corruption.
10 For You will not leave my soul in Sheol,
Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.
11You will show me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
(Ps 16:10-11 NKJ).
Are we prepared to take up the Lord’s challenge, to fulfil His Mandate, given to us in this present time and season? For this mandate, is from the Lord. We thru Christ, are challenged to possess the land, until the Lord comes, bringing back His Righteousness, Holiness to this world. Surely our God is the Righteous God! Holy is He! He alone is God! There is no other! Truly I know no other! Surely the whole earth shall be filled with His Glory.
Lord; we know You alone are God! Truly; You are always, ever Holy, Merciful, Righteous and Forgiving! You are our Prince of Peace. We look to You, o Lord for Your direct leading. We earnestly seek Your Face! Lord You say, when we seek you, with all our heart, we shall find You. You o Lord; are & remain my God, therefore early, daily shall I seek You.
The Lord encourages us to watch, stand fast in the Faith, be brave, be strong. Let all that we do be done with Love. (See 1 Cor 16:13-14 NKJ). Everyday; we need to renew our strength in the Lord; we need to build our Faith upon the Chief Cornerstone. He is our One, Sure Foundation. He is unchanging, always the Same. We should be able to say, even as Simon Peter; “Lord where can we go, except, to You; for You alone, have the Words of Life. Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God.”( See Jn 6:68-69 NKJ).
After Moses’ passing on, Joshua had been established, charged, through God, to lead in Moses’ footsteps. The Lord; encouraged, promised, Joshua He would be with him. The Lord further promised Joshua, He (The Lord); would be with him as He had been with Moses. The Lord also promised, that none would stand against him. The Lord also instructed Joshua to be strong and courageous, as he would lead Israel into her Promised Land, dividing to her their possession and border.
Joshua led Israel through the Jordan on dry land and eventually taking over Jericho. Gradually as the Lord led them, He divided to each their portion. During this period of their history; Joshua, had been raised, prepared of the Lord; to be Israel’s leader. God had even prepared Joshua, under Moses to lead Israel. When still a youth Joshua (Hoshea, son of Nun); regularly, spent all his spare time with the Lord; in the tent of meeting. Yes; he spent his years as a youth, regularly in the Lord’s presence.
Joshua with Caleb and ten other, were appointed by Moses, to spy out the Promise. They were to scout the land, bringing information, of the Promise. Out of the twelve, only Caleb and Joshua brought a good report. Of this generation, only Joshua and Caleb , had been awarded to enter their Promise. The rest of them, who returned a bad report, never entered their Promise.
We are to watch that which we report. Once more we are reminded of death and life being in the power of our tongue. For the words which we may have sown over the years, are seeds which we had sown. As the natural seed is sown in fertile ground, producing up to hundred fold fruit; even so the thoughts, words we meditate and think about, upon most of the time, shall produce fruit in our lives.
As mentioned in one of my earlier posts, entitled; “Thoughts”; I had touched on, these matters. that which we most often think about, may come to the forefront. Therefore as Paul writes in 2Cor 10:3-5, we are to take every thought captive, bringing it to the obedience of Christ. For what we keep in our hearts, will come out of our minds. This is one of the many reasons, for us to put Romans 12 into action. For we need not be conformed to the world’s external, superficial customs. We are to be transformed, through the renewing of our mind (See Rom 12:1-3 Amplified).
Remember God’s thoughts are no our thoughts; neither are His Ways our Ways. God’s Ways are and have always been, higher than man’s ways. That which to man and his world may seem foolish, is usually God’s wisdom; therefore we are to test our thoughts, to see if they Glorify God. We are also to test and see, whether our words, the seed, which comes from our mouths is not corrupt. For corrupt speech, brings destruction. We are to renew our minds with the Word of the Lord. It is written death and life are in the power of the tongue. Therefore we are to be sure about the seed we allow in our hearts.
The result of our reports, can either give us victory in Jesus, or lead us to defeat. The Lord knows the plans, which He has in store for us. He knows our end! He knows the end from the Beginning! He numbers ev’ry one of our days, from before we were formed in our mother’s womb; e’en till our present seasons. The psalmist also wrote of these matters. Our Lord always causes us to triumph. It is He; who causes us to overcome; ev’ry time!
Back to the two whom had a good report, and the ten whom gave a bad report. When reading about this particular incident, we find different reactions. The two with the good report had been rejected by Israel, whereas the ten whom gave the bad report were rather more readily accepted by the crowd. They rejected God’s promise, thus they were not able to possess their promise. The two whom received, giving their report, although rejected by the majority, entered their Promise. They were of a different spirit than the other, therefore they entered their Promise.
Now the majority giving their bad report, were heeded by the company. Eventually none of them entered their Promise, except their younger generation, after them. Joshua and Caleb, were the only two; of their generation who entered, receiving their Promise. Joshua taking over from Moses, had been anointed to lead Israel into their Promised Land.
We also, always, need to be continually watching and ready. Daily spending time in the Lord’s Presence, is also advisable. Joshua regularly watched, spending time in the Lord’s presence. Often when the Lord deals with His servants, He sets them apart for His Divine Purpose. We therefore; have this treasure in earthen vessels.
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. (2Cor4:7 NKJ).
7 However, we possess this precious treasure [the divine Light of the Gospel] in [frail, human] vessels of earth, that the grandeur and exceeding greatness of the power may be shown to be from God and not from ourselves.
8 We are hedged in (pressed) on every side [troubled and oppressed in every way], but not cramped or crushed; we suffer embarrassments and are perplexed and unable to find a way out, but not driven to despair;
9 We are pursued (persecuted and hard driven), but not deserted [to stand alone]; we are struck down to the ground, but never struck out anddestroyed;
10 Always carrying about in the body the liability and exposure to the same putting to death that the Lord Jesus suffered, so that the [resurrection] life of Jesus also may be shown forth by and in our bodies.(2Cor4:7-10 Amp).
