Concerning Salvation/Return to the Lord

  • The Lord tells us when we turn to Jesus, call on His Name He’ll hear us (Jer33:3; 29:11-14).

    Scripture

For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts of and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome. Then you will call on Me,  and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear and heed you. Then you will seek Me, inquire for, and require M [as a vital necessity] and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will release you from captivity and gather you from all the nations and all the places to which I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I caused you to be carried away captive. (Jer 29:11-14 Amp).

     Jesus is Lord

     Concerning Salvation

In Rom 10 from verse 8-14 amplified we read: – _but what does it say? The Word (God’s message in Christ) is near you on your lips; and in your heart; that is the Word (the message, the basis and object) of faith which we preach. Because if you acknowledge, and confess with your lips (mouth, tongue) that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely, on the Truth) that God raised Him (Jesus Christ) from the dead you will be saved _ _ _ .

This means we need to come to the Lord. realize, recognize, Jesus Christ is Lord. Confess with our lips, ie we are to call on Jesus Name, for there is no other Mediator between God and man, except for Christ Jesus, through whom we may be saved, healed delivered from original sin.

We understand from Scripture, we’ve all sinned and fall short, of God’s Glory in Jesus. Because of this sin, God being Holy, Righteous and Just, cannot allow sin in His Presence.

Original sin, in fact all sin, keeps us from Life. Sin brings death and destruction. There is no way out from sin, for we are all born in sin. Because God is Holy, our sin cannot stand in His Presence, as said earlier.

This puts us in a nasty predicament. For sin would lead to death. Yet that is not what God intended for us. What are we to do? Indeed a very good question. Now Jesus who knew no sin, became sin for us, so we through Him; would be made righteous before God.

Thus Jesus came, dying in our place, suffering because of our sin, died on the cross. Death could not hold Him. He is the very source of Life. Therefore He died, laid His Life down as a living sacrifice, for our Salvation. Now because He being God in Flesh, (for that is what Emmanuel means), laid His Life down, we have the chance of Salvation.

Now if He died; how then could we be saved? Except if God raised Him from the Grave. This is recorded both in Scripture and the historical records. The religious leaders of that day, had been fully aware of who Christ Jesus is. Yet they tried to hide this Truth from all people.

Yet God is God and each man or woman a liar. We see from the records, Jesus is who he said, claims He is. The Truth of God could not, nor would be denied. The disciples, later called apostles, knew these truths. Therefore they would clearly proclaim the Good News of God’s Salvation, His Forgiveness, for all men everywhere.

The religious leaders, had been blinded. Although right before their eyes these happenings were taking place, and they did not see it. We’re encouraged by the scriptures as record in both the old Testament and the New.

In Rom 10 we read: –

The Scripture says: “No man who believes in Him (Christ Jesus) [who adheres to, relies on, and trusts on Him(Christ Jesus)], will [ever] be put to shame or be disappointed. [No one ] for there is no distinction between Jew and Greek. The same Lord is Lord over all [of us] an He generously bestows His riches upon all who call upon Him [in faith].

For everyone who calls upon the Name of the Lord, (Christ Jesus); [invoking Him as Lord] will be saved. But how are people to call upon Him Whom they have not believed [in Whom they have no faith, on Whom they have no reliance]? And how are they to believe in Him [adhere to, trust in, and rely upon Him of Whom they have never heard? and how are they to hear without a preacher? And how can men [be expected to] preach unless they are sent?

As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of those who bring Glad Tidings! [How welcome is the coming of those who preach the Good News of His Good Things!] But they have not all heeded the Gospel; for Isaiah says, ‘Lord, who has believed (had faith in); what he has heard from us [our report]?’ So, (then); faith comes by hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the preaching [of the Message that came from the lips] of Christ (the Messiah Himself).” (See Rom 10:11-17 Amplified).

    How to be Saved

So how can we be saved? How can we be found, although we may have lost our way? Scripture clearly points us to believe and call upon the Name of Jesus! Should we desire to be delivered from our sinful nature, experience Grace, Salvation, Mercy and Forgiveness; then we need to call on the Name of Jesus Christ.

    1) Acknowledge & confess our sin before God,

    2) Ask Him to show His Mercy and Grace

    3) Call upon the Name above all names, the Name of Jesus

    4) Repent of our sin and wickedness,

    5) Receive Christ Jesus into our Hearts

    6) Confess Jesus as Lord; with our mouths

    7) Believe God raised Him from the Dead

    Pray

    Pray this prayer: –

Father God we confess we are born in sin, and are become sinners. Lord You tell us in Your Word, that You so Greatly Loved us, that You gave us Your only Begotten Son (Jn3:16). Whom knowing no sin, became sin for us (2 Cor 5: 19- 21), died on the cross on our behalf (Jn3:16), so we would become sons and daughters of God and made God’s Righteousness through Christ Jesus (Jn 1:1- 14; 1Cor 5:21). Father You raised Christ from the dead, so through Him we could be saved from our sin and have eternal life (Rom 10:9- 13; Jn3:16). Father we also receive the baptism, in filling of the Holy Spirit through Whom we are sealed. (1Cor1:20-22). With the proof of speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit gives us power and utterance; to be Your witnesses in our Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and to the ends of the Earth (Acts 1:8; 2:1-8;4:31; 8:14-17; 1Cor 14:1- 5; Acts 10: 44-48). Lord we thank U for receiving and cleansing us from all our sin in Jesus Name. Amen!

    1. Thanks for your comments. If our Lord can use these posts and the (my) blog; fertiileground to open people’s eyes to the Truth of the Gospel; this Good News; then let our Lord be glorified. My prayer is for the Lord to use this ministry (if I am able to call this a ministry) to touch the hearts and lives of as many people possible. My prayer is also for salvations signs and wonders, healings deliverances to take place. It is God’s will that none should perish, for all men everywhere to come to repentance (2Pet 3:9).
Hell (and there is a hell) is not men for mankind or the children of man, but hell is prepared since the beginning of time for the devil and his angels. God does not take pleasure in the death of a sinner. For this reason, Jesus Christ came to the earth as a babe, to die on the cross, the sacrifice for our sin (1Pet2:24-25; 1Pet1:19). Through Him we all have an equal chance of Salvation. Christ came so we could have life, and have it more abundantly. Our Lord is able to do far abundantly above whatever we ask, think or imagine (see Eph 3:19-21).
