My thoughts are not your thoughts
I know the thoughts

“_ _ _ and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). (2Cor10:5b amp).

Take Ev’ry Thought Captive
It is of utmost importance for us to take every thought captive in obedience to Christ. For as we think, will eventually come to the fore. Our thoughts are sure to decide our final outcome. The Lord encourages us not to be conformed to the world’s way of thinking. we may keep our thoughts from others, but not the Lord. Our Lord knows our every thought.

Often through scripture we see our Lord knew what the people were thinking. What we think the most about will become action. We are also to watch our tongues. For we are to renew our minds, with the Word of God. We see that death and life are in the power of the tongue (see Pr 18:21). Our Lord also tells us what is in our heart will show in our words.

Therefore we can say what we most often think of will come out of our mouths. Proverbs tells us the plans and orderly thinking blong to man, yet the Lord has the wise counsel, answer of the tongue.

Roll your works upon Him
The plans of the mind and orderly thinking belong to man, but from the Lord comes the [wise] answer of the tongue. All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the spirits (the thoughts and intents of the heart) Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly in Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed. (Pr 16:1-3 amp).

Thus we are encouraged to take our plans and thoughts to Him first. Once we do this, He is more than willing; to direct our steps. After all He reminds us:

“_ _ _I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you,” says the Lord, “thoughts and plans for welfare amd peace and not for evil, to give you a hope in your final outcome. then you will call upon Me, and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear and heed you. then you will seek seek Me, inquire for and require Me [as a vital necessity] and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will release you from captivity_ _ _” (Jer 29:11-14a amp).

Our Lord promises us; when urgently seek Him, we shall find Him. We are also reminded to first seek His Kingdom and His Righteousness, then all these things shall be added unto us (see Mt 6:33). The Psalmist also reminds us; “to delight ourselves also in the Lord and He will give us the desires and secret petitions of our heart.” (see Ps 37:4 amp).

These are just a few Scriptures, we need to look at, when meditating on the word; about our thoughts. We are reminded: – 1) To keep ev’ry thought captive.
2) To think on that which is pure, holy and righteous before Him.
We are also reminded: –
3) To keep our minds focused on the Lord.

It is written the Lord keeps us in perfect Peace when our minds are kept, stayed on Him. You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You. (Is 26:3amp).

Paul further reminds us in his letter to the Philipians in Phil 4:8 amplified Bible: –
For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence ande is honourable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsomeand gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them]. (Phil 4:8 amp).
