Scripture tells us we are to submit ourselves to God, resist the enemy, and he’ll flee from us (Jas4:7-10).
We are also reminded in (Jas 1:12-18amp) 12 Blessed (happy, to be envied) is the man who is patient under trial and stands up under temptation, for when he has stood the test and been approved, he will receive [the victor’s] crown of life which God has promised to those who love Him. 13 Let no one say when he is tempted, I am tempted from God; for God is incapable of being tempted by [what is] evil and He Himself tempts no one. 14 But every person is tempted when he is drawn away, enticed and baited by his own evil desire (lust, passions). 15 Then the evil desire, when it has conceived, gives birth to sin, and sin, when it is fully matured, brings forth death. 16 Do not be misled, my beloved brethren. 17 Every good gift and every perfect (free, large, full) gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of all [that gives] light, in [the shining of] Whom there can be no variation [rising or setting] or shadow cast by His turning [as in an eclipse]. 18 And it was of His own [free] will that He gave us birth [as sons] by [His] Word of Truth, so that we should be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures [a sample of what He created to be consecrated to Himself].
Remember we are all born in sin, when we commit our lives to Jesus, we don’t run straight away. We gradually grow, and are changed, from glory to glory. The Lord is unchanging. When accepting Jesus, as Lord & Master of our lives, we are reborn. Our spirit is renewed, restored, forgiven. Then we reach maturity. We need to spend time in His Word; in His Holy Presence. We are to renew our mind & understanding; through His word. The closer we draw to Him, the more, we will be changed to be like Him.

Yes the Lord is to be glorified in our lives. We need to 1st to submit our lives to Christ Jesus as Lord Master & Saviour of our lives. We need also to humble ourselves to God, resist the enemy & he shall flee from us. Christ remains the Author & Finisher of our Faith.
